PROBLEMs only exist when a man is asleep

PROBLEMs only exist when a man is asleep

When men is asleep the mind takes over.

Now, freedom from all that, is freedom from the known; it is the state of a mind which says, "I do not know", and which is not looking for an answer. Such a mind is completely not seeking not expecting; and it is only in this state that you can say, "I understand". It is the only state in which the mind is free, and from that state you can look at the things that are known - but not the other way round. From the known you cannot possibly see the unknown; but when once you have understood the state of a mind that is free - which is the mind that says, "I don't know" and remains unknowing, and is therefore innocent - , from that state you can function, you can be a citizen, you can be married, or what you will. Then what you do has relevance, significance in life. But we remain in the field of the known, with all its conflicts, striving, disputes, agonies, and from that field we try to find that which is unknown; therefore we are not really seeking freedom. What we want is the continuation, the extension of the same old thing: the known. - Krishnamurti, J. Krishnamurti The Collected Works Vol. XIV Saanen 3rd Public Talk 11th July 1963

The concept of a “problem” has been one of the most brilliant ideas of the game makers of this prison, a perfect glue to this game of illusion.

“One of the most important and most difficult illusion to conquer is our conviction that we can ‘do’. Try to understand what that means. We think we can make a plan, decide, start and achieve what we want, but the things just happens to him. That may sound strange,  particularly now when everybody thinks they can do something. But little by little  you will understand that many things we are accustomed to say about man generally could only be true about men of higher level and do not apply to men of our low level.”. … “It is very important  to understand that man cannot “do”. because this is the basic of our view of ourselves, and even when we become disappointed with ourselves we think that other people can ‘do’. We cannot accept completely and fully that things happen mechanically and that nobody gives a push to them.”
♣ The fourth way, chapter Good and Evil
by P.D. Ouspensky ♣

If you tell anyone that problems do not exist, you are going to be regarded as crazy.

Indeed you have to work pretty hard in order to even agree with the concept of a problem.

You have to built a past, a future, you must have a bunch of experiences, a well firm concept of time where to store all this stuff and you have to believe you are someone, you have a definitive character and a bunch of goals to go with it and most of all you have to keep yourself asleep so the mind(s) can move you around while telling you what you are experiencing and seeing, who you are and all the rest.

You have to believe that is you planning your morning, you, winning the awards or getting promoted, you losing your wallet or failing the finals at school.

You have to agree with all this impulses you are getting while asleep picturing a life which is only a program, a projection of a movie.

You have to believe on all that above and get busy enjoying or suffering through this projection enough to forget to wake up to the dream and leave the “projection” room and go “home”.

I have stopped many times to self-observing.

Self observing myself getting back asleep.

I remember Mr. Hubbard saying that a Present time problem can be considered solved only when the person doesn’t feel he has to do anything about it.

At the time I thought was almost silly to expect that.

If your house is burning down… In this system is considered normal that your attention would be stuck there.

Today I understand the deep meaning of that.

There is a much deeper meaning in  there that what the philosopher intended to convey.

If you truly awake,

you know the house is not burning down.

First of all there is no house in the first place,

it all a dream, a series of impulses arriving to you.

Once you really know that, your worries disappear and with that the energy you have been sending

to the “movie” trying to change or to modify the plot, trying to ‘stop the fire’.

Without your contribution, that specific code is not receiving any support, any fuel.

That’s all a problem is.

A problem is fear that what you have been told is you, would get hurt or lost.

It get power in your effort to modify or to stop something from happening which does not really exist.

The concept of a “problem” has been one of the most brilliant ideas

of the game makers of this prison,

a perfect glue to this game of illusion.

…he passes of his life in sleep. He only looks as though he is awake; or occasionally he wakes for a moment, looks round and falls a sleep again. This is the first characteristic of man 1.(…)  The second characteristic is the fact that though he has many different ‘I’s. some of these ‘I’s do not even know one another.”
